Super Bowl or Bust

After shoveling out several multi-million dollar contracts this offseason, fans and analysts are calling 2018 a make or break season for Minnesota.

Last year, the Vikings beat the odds despite losing both their starting quarterback and new star running back. Minnesota went 13-3 and won the NFC North while boasting the top defense in the league.

Unfortunately, even the euphoria from the Minneapolis Miracle wasn’t enough to propel the Vikings past Philadelphia in the NFC Championship game, and fans are hungry for their first Lombardi trophy.

Mike Zimmer is known as a no-nonsense coach that doesn’t try to give fans a false sense of security. However, during last night’s press conference, Zimmer broke from tradition and made a bold statement:

“You’re going to be really proud of them in February.”

Let me remind you that this year’s Super Bowl is being held on February 3rd in Atlanta. Coaches like to be optimistic about the team that they’ve built, but few are willing to set expectations this high in case things don’t go as planned.

The NFL is a very uncertain landscape with plenty of variables. If Mike Zimmer is willing to put himself out on a limb before the season even starts, then I stand behind him.

Join me fellow Vikings fans, and I’ll see you in Atlanta.
