Believer

The Minnesota Vikings successfully shot down the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday and climbed back to a winning record. Our team is officially back on track, and the revival is largely thanks to Kirk Cousins.

After Case Keenum’s miracle season and Teddy Bridgewater’s improbable return from injury, I was wary of the decision to bring Kirk Cousins to Minnesota. After watching his first few games in purple, it’s time we welcome him to the family.

The season got off to a strange start with a loss to the Bills and a tie to the Packers, but Cousins is fighting for his new team and bringing hope to the franchise. If anything, the initial setbacks seemingly lit a flame under “Captain Kirk,” and he’s since produced two compelling wins.

Cousins currently sits near the top of the league with 1,921 passing yards and 12 touchdowns. He obviously has a great arm, but what impresses me most is his leadership. After only a few games with the Vikings, Kirk Cousins has really embraced the team, leading the pre-game hype speeches in the absence of team captain Everson Griffen. Cousins has the skillset and charisma that fans have waited years for, and I’m now a full believer in our new leader.

The Vikings have a long season ahead of them, but we can have plenty of confidence with Kirk at the helm.
